Community Attainable Housing
04/01/2018 – 12/31/2018
Affordable housing is in critical short supply not only in Arvada, but in all of Jefferson County. Rent and housing prices are escalating and homelessness is on the rise. Housing is considered affordable if it constitutes 30% or less of a household’s income.
Jeffco’s most significant housing needs include affordable single family housing, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing and senior and handicapped accessible rental units.
The supply of affordable housing affects a community’s health, education and economy. This issue cannot be addressed in a vacuum without the support and collaboration of neighboring communities and organizations.
