Infrastructure Master Plan

By December 2023: Update the Water, Sewer, Stormwater, and Overall Infrastructure Master Plan

The purpose of infrastructure master planning is to sustain the City's wet infrastructure.  Work includes assessing current asset condition; developing a list of projects for capital improvement and reinvestment; estimating project costs; and prioritizing those projects on short and long-term schedules.

It is important for the City to frequently review and update wet Infrastructure Master Plans to ensure we are taking lasting care of wet infrastructure assets and are appropriately planning for reinvestment, replacement, and maintenance of infrastructure assets.

The 2021 budget included projects in the water master plan and 10 year forecast. The team will update the City Council in January 2022 on the stormwater and sewer master plans. The budget and financial plans are on track to incorporate all  findings by December, 2023.

The water master plan is complete and is currently being implemented by the City. This work has resulted in identifying funding needs. Water and sewer rates will be increased in 2022 for the first time since 2009. This rate increase will enable us to complete priority projects identified in the master plans.
