Did you know? 59% of revenue the City receives is generated from sales tax. Please shop in Arvada!
Principle: Maintains and protects the health, safety, and welfare of the public by ensuring safe buildings,in the community, while providing excellent customer service.
This measure shows the total number of permits issued by type. These are building permits and permits for work in the right-of-way.
Currently not all permit types can be applied for on-line. In order to help better serve our community, the City would like to have all permits to be able to be applied for on-line. This measure will help the City determine how close they are to reaching that goal.
We are continuing to push processes online through arvadapermits.org for added convenience to our customers. This month our activity was similar to the previous month. Most of our permits and projects are available for online payment and issuance. We have plans for more applications to be available through the online portal in October 2020. This month we did have a technical issue with the system that caused it to be offline for two days, this issue was unexpected and showed us the importance of this online tool for not only our customers but for our City team members as well. We are continuing to work out additional technical issues with the system but have 85% of the services available to our customers.
Data is generated from the TRAKiT system. The report is looking at the user that issued the permit and determining if it was the online user that issued the permit or if it was staff.
Same Day Building Inspections
Contractors and homeowners schedule work and time around the permit inspection. Often other construction is suspended until the inspection passes. Requests for permits may be scheduled online or called in on the 24 hour line. The permit holder may schedule as far out as 15 days, but day-of inspections must be received by 6 a.m.
Performing and providing inspection results to customers in a timely fashion helps ensure corrections can be completed as soon as possible and the inspection and construction process can proceed quickly for our customers.
During the month of September, 1979 inspections were scheduled with 1971 inspections completed same day. This is 99.6% exceeding our goal of 98% of inspections resulted on the day scheduled. Four of the remaining eight were completed the same day as scheduled but did not get resulted in a timely manner. This is due to inspector oversite. The remaining four are roof inspections that did not get completed same day because access needed to be coordinated with the contractor.
All inspections continue to be scheduled and performed as requested while continuing to maintain social distancing protocols to protect the public as well as our inspectors.
This report is generated from TRAKiT and is complied from all inspections completed in the reporting period for Building Inspections only. The number in the "Inspections Completed Same Day" column are all inspections that are completed on the same day as scheduled, if an inspection was a day passed the scheduled date it is not included in this number.
